Traveler’s Medical Service in New York is a Certified Yellow Fever Vaccination Center. As holders of a “uniform stamp” we can vaccinate and provide the appropriate documentation on the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP), also known as the “Yellow Card.”

You may be required to show proof of yellow fever vaccination upon entering certain countries. It is important to know that yellow fever vaccination may also be recommended for your protection if traveling to risk areas.

The travel health experts at Traveler’s Medical Service take special care to make sure that you safely and appropriately receive the yellow fever vaccine if it is important for your health protection or for a country entry requirement. In some cases we may recommend a yellow fever waiver certificate and letter for individuals who should not take the vaccine due to certain pre-existing medical conditions or precautions.

IMPORTANT: If yellow fever vaccine is recommended or required for your destination(s), please be aware that there may be other health concerns at your destination such as malaria. Are you aware of and prepared for the other health risks of your destination? We strongly recommend that all travelers have a complete pre-travel consultation for the most thorough advice and preparation.

Yellow fever is a virus transmitted by infected mosquitoes to humans. It can cause severe illness, and in some cases death, within days of being bitten by an infected mosquito.

People who live in or travel to risk regions can be infected. Most cases occur in rural areas or places near forests or jungles. Outbreaks in cities and urban areas also occur. Many countries in risk regions have vaccination programs and entry requirements for proof of yellow fever vaccination to help reduce the risk of infection in humans.

Getting vaccinated against yellow fever and using insect repellents are important ways to protect against infection. Insect repellants are available for purchase at Traveler’s Medical Service.
